What a swell party this is...

Upstairs in 147, a small suite, there is a council of peace dinner party set up.

It was supposed to be posh gourmet food (Guppy wasn't sure what the Holmes family were used to) but after the oven got mysteriously turned up to 240 degrees instead of 180, the food is now pizza. There's tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Aside from the small kitchen area, there's a living room, bedroom and bathroom.

Coral is there ready to dutifully try to make efforts to get along with the Holmes kids.

Brooke is eying up the kids to see if there's anyone who's not a nerd to talk to.

Fry is sitting in the corner on the floor with his Game Boy, in what appears to be a rude gesture of ignoring, but is actually to do with psyching himself up. His knee only just got out of the brace from last time he saw Jackson.

Jackson walks straight to a different corner, without even looking at Fry, and sets up camp with his laptop. He's been warned against getting into it with Fry again, which he seems to have interpreted as 'ignore the boy's existence entirely.'

Fry does seem to attract the attention of a little girl, though. One who isn't wearing any shoes. She reaches for Fry's Game Boy.

"I want to play," she says.

Quentin, meanwhile, finds something to draw on with a Sharpie pen. It would seem to be a table, as he hasn't brought any paper with him.

Fry pauses his game, holds the Game Boy out of reach, and eyes the girl.

"This game is rated PG 12. I can't let you play it."

Coral approaches Quentin.

"It's all very well you trashing your own stuff, but it's kind of mean to wreck my dad's coffee table. This is where he comes to sleep when he's pulled a double shift at home then here."

She goes to the desk, opens the drawer, and pulls out a wad of A4 paper, which she gives to Quentin.

"Honestly, that's the sort of thing I'd expect a baby to do."

Brooke goes to join Jackson in the corner, since he's currently looking like the most sane option.

"You're smaller than I expected." she says, pulling a doll out of her inside pocket. She looks at it for a moment, then pulls its head and limbs off and starts to rearrange them.

"I mean, I figured you were smaller than him, or he'd have fought you properly. Fry doesn't fight girls or smaller people. I always win when we train."

Being five years younger than Fry, she's quite a bit smaller; but in comparison for her age she's tall, stocky, and nearly as big as Coral, who's three years older than her.

Guppy is in the kitchen, eating pizza and wondering where to start with the two adults his son seems to be involved with...

Mycroft had a feeling this would not be a terribly formal event, so he's done up rather casually today. That is, the suit he's wearing is only two-piece, and didn't cost as much as much as most people pay for rent in a month. He still has his brolly, though. And the fabric of it still almost exactly matches the colour of his suit.

Really, if he's unimpressed with what he sees, he's doing a wonderful job at hiding it.

"Dr Sandhu," he says genially. "I'd like to thank you again for arranging this little meeting."

Nope. Nothing creepy or suspicious about this man at all.

Guppy smiles. "No problem. Our families seem to be getting quite closely involved and, well, I recognise the kids' independance but I try and keep an eye out."

He pours some tea.

"I'm sorry about the food; we spent the afternoon making proper stuff but I think one of the kids sabotaged it." He glances at Brooke, who is just in his eyeline in the living room.
